In Hand Embroidery & Stitchery
Somebody's having a good time! I wonder how many shops have been visited? How much fun would it be to go on a shop hop in a yellow polka dotted convertible V-dub? This pattern gives instructions for colored pencil tinting, hand embroidery, English Paper Piecing the border, and assembling this little 19.5in x 15.5in wallhanging. It makes me happy just to look at it!
Shop Hop Cruise Supply List
- FQ or 1/2 yd of stitchery background fabric
- FQ or 1/2 yd of white muslin for backing
- FQ or 1/8 yd fabric for inner border & 1 piece EPP
- FQ or 1/4 yd fabric for outer border
- English Paper Pieced Border - scraps or jelly roll, 24 @ at least 2.5in x 3in for scrappy EPP border pieces, the more variety the better
- Binding - 5 strips @ 2.5in x 18in use at least 3 diff. prints
- Backing and Batting - 2/3 yard each
- 01 or 005 brown Pigma pen
- Light box for tracing your embroidery patterns
- Artist’s paper blending stumps
- Emery board/nail file
- Size 4 round watercolor brush
- Jacquard Textile #100 Colorless Extender
- Freezer paper
- Embroidery hoop (I like a 5in thin-sided, spring tension hoop)
- #7 embroidery needle
- Loctite Fun-Tak Mounting Putty (for removing most pencil tinting mistakes before fixative is added)
