YOU & ME IN STITCHES 12" CLAPPER

These clappers are made locally in Alberta, Canada. They are made from solid Redwood. This makes the clapper a heavier weight.

Used with steam from your iron, press the area with the clapper and hold for just a few seconds, it will leave a nice crisp seam.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The clapper is a special tool that uses the absorbent properties of wood to keep heat and steam inside your fabric instead of letting it escape into the air. By applying the right combination of heat and pressure, the clapper helps create perfectly flat seams.

WHEN SHOULD I USE IT?

The tailor's clapper can be used on a variety of seams, including tucks, collars, cuffs, hems, and especially on TINY seams! It is recommended to use it whenever you want to achieve a crisp and flat finish.

HOW DO I USE A TAILOR'S CLAPPER?

To use the tailor's clapper effectively, first press your seam with steam using either a spray bottle or your iron. Then, place the clapper on the seam and hold it down for about 5-7 seconds until the fabric cools down completely. If you remove the clapper too soon, you may not get the full benefit of its heat treatment, so be patient.
